Golf Trolley Batteries

Electric golf trolleys have revolutionised the way many golfers play their rounds of golf. Though they are great fun, and can be viewed as a gimmick, they also have very beneficial uses for many golfers. Elderley, or partially abled players can now walk the course without having to lug round a heavy golf bag and its load of clubs.

For this reason, you need to have the right golf trolley batteries to ensure your game of golf goes as smoothly as possible. The last thing you want is for your golf trolley batteries to run out half-way through a game, as a dead electric trolley is even heavier to pull than a standard one!

Golf trolley batteries come in many different sizes and variations, but there is a consistent factor in that you only need the one to power your trolley, unlike the many golf cart batteries you need to power your golf cart.

Different sizes, simply mean different power outputs and therefore differing times of useage. When shopping for golf trolley batteries, you can normally use the following guide:

  • 12v 22Ah – 18 Holes
  • 12v 30Ah – 27 Holes
  • 12v 36Ah – 36 Holes

Most golf trolley batteries are sealed units, so require very little maintenance to keep them at their best. Charging the batteries is best done when they are fully worn down, but if that’s not possible, you should really aim to give them a full charge to get the most out of them.

If you do however use a golf trolley battery that needs maintenance, you’ll need to keep an eye on the levels, and top the battery up with distilled water as and when it needs it to avoid potential damage.
